We had to have Mindy, our 17 year old kitty put to sleep on tuesday night. The growth on her tummy just kept getting worse, even after the antibiodics and there was no way we were gonna try to put her through the surgery. The vets said the anesthetic for the surgery probably would have killed a cat her age anyway. We're still kind of sad, and we miss her lots, but we know she's all better now. There's no more growth, no more infection, so she can be a happy kitty again. We just couldn't bear to make her suffer any longer than she already had, so as soon as we could afford it, we let her go the most painless way we knew and had her euthanized... my god, that's such a cold term... we had her put to sleep sounds so much better, because that's what it does... the animal falls asleep, then just slips away. No pain, nothing worse than the prick of a needle for a moment, and now she's in kitty heaven with Egypt, and they're both probably playing with Corey's little brother Justin. They can all keep eachother company, which makes us feel better about the whole thing.
Corey decided yesterday that he wanted a new kitty, and since he'd never had a kitten before, that's what we got him. She's a little orange tabby, 9 weeks old, and just one of the cutest little fur babies I've ever seen. We haven't decided on a name for her yet, so we've just been calling her Baby. The name may stick, you never know. She's already comfortable as can be with me and Corey, now we just have to get her and Dot to warm up to eachother, cuz Dot's kinda in the hissy stage right now.

This is Corey and Mindy a couple of weeks ago...
