I ask for so little. Just fear me, love me, do as I say and I will be your slave.

Ok, many of you know that I work in the Halloween store a couple miles from where I live.  I went to work today expecting it to be slow, which is was, and boring, which it wasn't.  Usually during the week, you get your usual gawkers comin in and every once in a while, someone decides to buy something.  Today was no different.  The only thing that really made it not boring was this strange old man who kept coming in.  The first couple of times, he didn't say anything, he'd stare at me, go look around, stare some more, and then he'd leave.  I expected more of the same the third time he came in.  I was wrong.  This man, who had to be in his late 60s or early 70s came walking up to me and asked "How much do you go for?"  I started laughing, figuring the old guy was tryin to be funny, and honestly, it was so unexpected, it was kinda funny.  He stood there and stared at me, waiting for an answer.  So I told him I wasn't for sale.  He informed me that I must have lost my price tag and should get a new one.  I just laughed and walked away, figuring the guy was having a little fun at my expense.  I can deal with that.  When I got back to the front of the store, he was gone.

 

About an hour later, the guy came back again and asked me the same question.  I told him again that I wasn't for sale and he mumbled something and walked out.  Another 45 minutes later, he was back again asking the same question.  I didn't answer him and he left.  Another hour or so later, about 15 minutes before my shift ended, I saw him walking toward me again.  So, I grabbed a blank sticker, and wrote "Not for sale" on it in big letters with a marker and stuck it on my shirt.  He saw it and said I was unfair for picking on him.  I just smiled and told him I figured it would help to have a sticker on because then noone would get confused and think everything in the store, including the employees, was for sale.  He got mad and left.  When the girl who was taking over for me got to the store, I warned her about the guy and gave her a short description for him... she laughed at me, I think she thought I was joking... all I can say is she'd better watch out for the old guys comin in there!  She just might be the next one getting an offer LOL

 

Just figured I'd share a piece of the crazyness of my day... stuff like that doesn't happen to me too often and now that I'm home, its all funny again instead of annoying
