I ask for so little. Just fear me, love me, do as I say and I will be your slave.

I know it's taken me a few days to get this down, but I've been working long hours since I got back on wednesday and finally got a day off   So I can finally put the whole thing down.

 

Got to the airport on Monday morning and it was being announced everywhere that "The Department of Homeland Security has upgraded the threat level to orange".  Yay.  Then it was announced that "No liquid, aerosol, or gel more than 3 ounces could be taken on the plane in a carry on."  Again, yay.  So I had to check my carry on because I didn't bring a suitcase for a 3 day trip.  It would have been pointless.  So I grabbed my book and my mp3 player and went through security... no problems there.  Flew from Minneapolis to Chicago... I'm sure everyone here knows how I feel about being in Chicago.. I hate that damn city lol.  So I sat there for a couple hours waiting for my next flight, which happened to be a little puddle jumper plane to get to Akron.  I've found that I don't much care for those small planes... you can feel it every time the freaking wind gusts a little bit.  But oh well, I managed to get to Ohio in one piece.

 

When I got off the plane, Kate was waiting for me.  So let's see, that means we finally got to meet face to face after, hmm... 8 years of talking on line.  I got a huge hug and we went to the baggage claim to get my bag.  Then I was told that when we got outside, we were looking for a "small green American car".  Great, that narrows it down.. thank you Muffy's hubby.  Kate called him when we got outside and he was waiting curbside not too far from the doors.  We got on our way and stopped at a nifty chocolate shop to get some sugary goodness for Muffykins, then proceeded to her house.  She was still at work, so her hubby had to entertain Kate and I for two hours or so.  I felt kind of bad for the man lol... our family can be a scary group.  He did pretty well keeping up with us and our random outbursts of stories that he knew little or nothing about.

 

Muffy got home and there was more hugging right before she launched into a story about why they had to find a new best man.  Apparently this one was having what she called "pee pee problems" and informed them about it 18 hours before the wedding.  Needless to say, she was a little aggravated lol.  Then she saw hubby's new haircut and things got funnier.  He wouldn't admit it, but he'd ended up with a mullet... a severe 80s style mullet.  About 2 inches long on top and about 6 in back.  Needless to say, it was funny watching her try to tell him he had a mullet and him disagreeing with her.  We sat at Muffy's house for a while bs'ing and then went out to eat on the way to our hotel.  The hotel bit is another interesting story.  When Kate asked what hotel she should book us at, she was told to go on Travelocity and "just pick one".  So she went on and chose the first one that said Akron with the most stars.  Well, technically it said Akron/Kent and something else.  Never having been to Ohio, she figured ok, must be a suburb or something.  WRONG!  The hotel was IN Kent, which was a good 40 minutes away.  I guess that's what you get when you say "Just pick one".

 

The next morning was the wedding.  Lovely little simple pagan ceremony.  The priest and priestess were nice.. the priest seemed to have a penchant for talking about sex, but hey, he's pagan... I'm used to that.  Hell, I expected it.  Muffy made her dress and it was beautiful.  I'll grab the pics as soon as Kate decides to post them because I didn't have a camera with me.  It was supposed to rain the morning of the wedding, but it held off and the day ended up being beautiful and sunny.  So much in fact that I got a nice sunburn lol... damned Irish skin. 

 

After the wedding came food and a few hours to sit around and talk.  Several interesting conversations popped up outside where all us smokers were... Jae (the priest) was talking to us about ghosts and history and anything else that really came up.  It was entertaining to say the least.  A couple hours later, they held a Beltaine ritual, which we stayed for.  Quite a few people left before the ritual, but there was still a good number of us who stayed and it was a lot of fun.  While "sharing in the seeds of life", Jae managed to drop a seed down the front of my shirt... why is it everyone's always aiming things so they land in my cleavage? lol....

 

After the ritual, everything was packed up and people all started going home.  Kate and I were riding back to the hotel with Muffy and Mr. Muffy (yes, that's your new name ), so we helped them get everything to the car before we took off.  Back at the hotel, I found out Kate had a liking for cartoons, so we ended up watching Nickelodian for most of the night until we fell asleep... works for me, I'm a cartoon freak, I'll watch them all day if I've got nothing better to do.  Oh, and the rain showed up as soon as we got back into our hotel room... talk about good timing.  Muffy had been freaking out about her wedding getting rained out, so thank you Mother Nature for keeping it away until everything was done and everyone was able to get home.

 

The next morning it was back to the airports, say our goodbyes to Muffy and Mr. Muffy, and wait for our flights.  Kate and I said goodbye in the airport as her gate was pretty far away from mine.  I had to take another puddle jumper plane back to Chicago, then after almost 3 hours, I got on a plane to come home.  That's a lot of damn flying in what basically added up to 2.5 days.  When I got home, I sat down, ate, then went to bed and slept for 12 hours.

 

The whole thing was a blast, and it was about damned time I got to meet up with Kate and Muffykins.  I was happy to be home again though, I don't sleep well on planes or in hotel rooms, so I was exhausted by the time I got home.  At least next time we get out there to see Muffykins, we'll know that Kent is NOT near Akron, no matter what travelocity says, so we'll be able to get a hotel closer to where she actually lives.  And as I said, pics will be posted as soon as Kate gets the time to post them so I can get them.
